Mixed Concert October 10 In response to the many frustrated lovers of beautiful voices who were not able to attend the initial performance of the sensational tenor, José Cura, this concert will feature Cura as both tenor and conductor, along with two students from the 2007 Nancy Masterclass, Jan Stava and Julija Samsonova. The vocal portion of the evening will be under the direction of conductor Mario de Rose; then Cura will take the podium to conduct the Symphony Orchestra of Nancy in Dvorak's 9th (New World) Symphony.

José Cura returns to Nancy
After the enthusiasm for the master classes and the grand concert last year, the Nancy Opéra Passion association, vibrant with the tenacity of its founds, Mr. and Mrs. Delfosse, has won the return of José Cura. The concert, which will take place on October 10, will alternate between symphonic pieces and opera arias, interpreted by José Cura and two of the best students from the master class in 2007. The program will be dedicated in large part to Giacomo Puccini, in particular honor that this year marks the hundred-fiftieth anniversary of his birth.

Concert in 2008 / Masterclass in 2009
In the presence of Mr. Laurent Hénart MP and Mr. Laurent Spielmann, director of l’Opéra de Nancy, Dr. Jacques Delfosse, president of Nancy Opéra Passion, gave his counterparts at l’association Planète Clé de Sol the proceed from the concert held at the National Opera of Nancy and Lorraine in September 2007, following the master class given by the tenor José Cura. During this meeting the happy news of José Cura’s return to France was announced. The star tenor has, in fact, fallen in love with the capital of the Dukes of Lorrain and will return to Nancy in October 2008 for a major opera concert, alternating singing and conducting…before a new master class scheduled for September 2009
